Black Rock Mountain

Black Rock Mountain is Georgia's highest elevation state park, and the beauty here is hard to beat. The overlooks here are breathtaking, and sometimes even when one can't see very well into the distance (most mornings when it is foggy), the view is still awesome. I was able to capture some great moments during one of those times where the fog enhanced the view. This is favorite park and I have many pictures from here on multiple trips. I didn't take many pictures here this time since I already have so many pictures from the various attractions from previous trips. Most of these pictures are from the Cowee Overlook (above) and the others are from around the campsite.

Chenocetah Fire Tower

This is the historic Chenocetah Fire Tower located in Cornelia, Georgia. Like the fire tower at Fort Mountain, this one was also locked up tight. This is another beautiful example of how some fire towers were both functional and also very pleasing aesthetically. Despite not being able to see the inside, I'm still glad to have visited this location. Some things just need to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. A view of Lake Russell below the tower was equally impressive. The grounds of this location are kept impressively clean and neat. Some masonry work needs done, but this is to be expected from a property this old. This is definitely worth spending the time driving to.

Sewanee Natural Bridge

Another neat place on my recent trip was the Sewanee Natural Bridge. It was a rather wet morning, having rained quite a bit on the drive from the Nashville, Tennessee area on the way to this location not far from the Alabama border, so it was a bit foggy. Despite this, the pictures turned out rather well. This is just a short walk down stairs built into the hillside down to the bridge. It was a neat place to visit and only one other couple was there as I made my way back up from underneath the arch. Enjoy the pictures!
