Yatesville Lake

 

Yatesville Lake State Park is a gorgeous place in eastern Kentucky close to the border with West Virginia. The city of Louisa is nearby with plenty of stores, gas stations, and restaurants for almost any need one might have. This is one of the nicer campgrounds I have stayed at in Kentucky; although Paintsville Lake, not far away, is quite similar in amenities. The dam and marina along with some of the recreational activities (including The Cove Water Park) and the Visitor Center is in one area; the campground and golf course are on the opposite side of the lake quite a ways from the dam about a half hour drive away.

The first set of pictures are from the campground and the Lawrence County Wilderness Park (which was decorated for Halloween and they had a drive-thru "haunted experience" which was set up with special lighting for night use) next door and were taken in October of 2023; the second set of pictures are of the marina and dam areas and were taken in October of 2022.
