Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is located in Michigan between the small towns of Empire and Glen Arbor just off of SR 109. I was just there in 2023 and they had a Hemlock Woolly Adelgid infestation closing down the Old Indian Trail and surrounding area in 2024. The above picture is of the covered bridge on Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive. Many pictures I took were of signs explaining many different aspects of each location, but the resolution here is rather low, so I decided to leave most of them out. Originally, I planned on visiting here in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic had other plans and the site was closed when I was in the area in June of that year.
One could probably spend an entire week here and still not get to see everything, but two days will probably suffice for most folks.
