Lover's Leap Overlook

Lover's Leap Overlook along US 58 in Virginia is spectacular in many respects. There are actually several overlooks here along the same ridge; the one most people are familiar with is the one right alongside the highway, but these pictures are from Fred Clifton Park next to it to the west. Things are changing dramatically here as the highway is being straightened and leveled into a 4-lane highway. The last time I drove through here in May of 2024, the park was only open to those who could wait an hour while blasting was done. Needless to say, I chose to continue rather than visit the park and wait since I had just been here several months before. These pictures, some of which show the ongoing construction, were taken in October of 2023.
