Beginning with this post, I shall lead up to another special set of posts highlighting another trip and more evidence of climate change and how it affects us. On this trip, I was horrified to be able to smell smoke from wildfires further southwest while traveling through Kentucky. While I am used to the smell west of the Great Plains nowadays; smelling it so close to my own state was rather discomforting. Despite the smell and the sights of thousands of dead ash trees lining the highways in Kentucky, there were many bright spots as well.
