Pilot Mountain State Park

 

Pilot Mountain State Park is located just off US 52 in northern North Carolina. This park has a little bit of everything. For those who love trails, rock climbing, spectacular views, camping, horseback riding, picnicking, fishing, and/or visitor centers, this is the place to be. Enjoy the scenery!

Mount Airy

 

Mount Airy, North Carolina, is an interesting place to visit. Hometown of Andy Griffith, the city capitalizes on the connection with a festival called "Mayberry Days" and has the Andy Griffith Museum and Floyd's Barber Shop as well as Ford Galaxie taxis painted to look just like the police cars used in The Andy Griffith Show. You can't drive through Mt. Airy without seeing one or two of them. I was there for only an hour or two and saw them a total of 8 times. I really didn't get many pictures of this place, as it was mostly a place to get lunch for the next stop, where I spent far more time. That will be next week's post and will be far more spectacular, so be sure not to miss it!
