It's a shame that this sign has been vandalized to such an extent that it is difficult to read. I am grateful to be able to see signs like this, vandalized or not. The first 7 pictures are from the scenic overlook located just north of Covington, Virginia on US 220. Continuing north just 1.5 miles from the scenic overlook is Falling Spring Falls, a gorgeous 80 foot waterfall.
The Lime Kilns at Eagle Rock instantly make an impression as one drives past. I knew about these furnaces before stopping here so that I wouldn't have to turn around and come back. The town of Eagle Rock is a trip to the past, as much of the downtown area has been abandoned. This is a great stop along either SR 43 or US 220!
